Senso on Rue de Tremoille (+33 1 56 52 14 00) is a quiet spot a couple of minutes from Pershing Hall. La Suite on Avenue Georges V (+33 1 53 57 49 49) is a hip place for dinner. Cristal Room Baccarat on Place des Etats-Unis (+33 1 40 22 11 10) is a stunning, over-the-top bar and restaurant designed by Philippe Starck, set in a crystal gallery/shop. Over the Kenzo store is another of his creations, Kong on Rue du Pont-Neuf (+33 (0)1 40 39 09 00). Request a table on the upper floor by the glass roof. Sleek Maison Blanche on Avenue Montaigne (+33 1 47 23 55 99) gives amazing views over the city: from some tables, you can see the Eiffel Tower. Book at least a week in advance.

L’Etoile Café on Rue de Presbourg (+33 1 45 00 78 70) is a great place near the Arc de Triomphe for drinks and a dance at the end of an evening. The legendary Buddha Bar on Rue Boissy d’Anglais (+33 (0)1 53 05 90 00) is a must for Asian food in stunning surroundings. Book a table at a side booth in the main atrium, well in advance – avoid being put under the stairs.
