Les Rosées
- Style
- Comfy vintage guesthouse
- Setting
- Mediaeval Mougins, Côte d'Azur
This French boutique hotel – 400 years old in parts – blends luxury and intimacy with artistic flair: hand-made antiques and rich fabrics contrast with crisp linens and delicate tapestries to create an esoteric, magical vision of Provençal style.

In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- With a tower-shaped reading room and separate dressing space, ‘Isadora’ is the most romantic suite. Spacious ‘Serguey’ is a little more contemporary – and has the whole top floor to itself, a working fireplace and a slate shower.
- Packing tips
- Comfy shoes for long walks, over-sized shades for a trip to Cannes (20 minutes away) and an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel for pool/fire-side reading.
- Also
- All suites are non-smoking, but the hotel has a cigar stash to accompany a glass of Cognac somewhere discreet. Oh – and “nice” pets are welcome.
Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- Only breakfast is served – consisting mostly of organic, fairtrade local produce. No Kellogs or apples from China – just plenty of home-made jam and sweet sultana pastries.
- Dress code
- Vintage couture, cool linens and espadrilles.
- Top table
- Plump for a breakfast table in the shadow of the tower, by the outdoor sofa.
- Room service
- There are no menus, rules or regulations; it’s a fluid affair. Ask, and they’ll try to help.
- Hotel bar
- Sample the collection of rich Italian reds and medal-winning local whites (plus home-made orange or nut wines) under the shade of the olive trees, in your boudoir, or while nestling on squidgy velvet cushions in the hotel’s living room.
