The Lodge’s remote mountain location limits your culinary options somewhat, and the closest you’re likely to come to ‘eating out’ is asking staff to pack you a picnic to enjoy beside a hidden waterfall. However, if you find yourself in nearby San Ignacio, choice improves, with a trio of simple, reliable and feminine-named eateries: Martha’s (804 3647), Hannah’s (824 3014), and Eva’s (824 2267). Each serves authentic Belizean cuisine in humble but lively surroundings.
