  • There are three doubles with king-size beds and three twins; fear not, they all have sweeping views of the ocean.
  • The master bedroom is the one to bagsy. Its ensuite has a cavernous terrazzo bath tub as well as a shower, and there’s a walk-in wardrobe to stash your stuff in.
  • Of the remaining five bedrooms, there are bath tubs in one of the doubles and one of the twins, and rainfall showers in the others.

  • Soori Bali is on the unspoilt south-west coast of the Indonesian island, with a backdrop of terraced rice fields and the volcanic Mount Batukaru looming in the distance.
  • Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 90-minute drive to the south, just beyond the capital city, Denpasar. There are direct flights to and from lots of major cities in Europe and Asia, including Emirates from the Middle East, Qantas from Australia, and Singapore Airlines from, er, Singapore.
  • The hotel offers free airport transfers by car; if you prefer a chopper, that’s an option too. You can hire a car at the airport, but you might be better off letting someone else weave in and out of the bumps and potholes – a private driver is around US$30 a day.
  • The Leisure Concierge staff know exactly what’s what in the local area – just ask them if you’d like to arrange tours to temples, markets and more around the Tabanan Regency.
