When to go

The mercury in the Dales can be a little, well, mercurial, but the summer months from June to August have the best chance of sun and minimal showers.

Getting there

  • Planes

You can touch down at Leeds Bradford Airport from all across the UK, as well as from a host of international cities. From there, it’s just under two hours by car – choose a route through the Dales for scenic en-route entertainment.
  • Trains

If you’re coming from Leeds or Carlisle, you can hop on a train to Garsdale station. Then it’s a 20-minute drive to the village.
  • Automobiles

From London, it’s around a five-hour drive. Once you’re there, you’ll need some wheels to explore the Dales properly. Bring your own car or hire one at the airport.
