Setting

One-of-a-kind reserve

Take a walk on the wild(life) side and head to Elmley Cottage, a homely hideaway on the sprawling Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent. The contemporary space has been designed with restful gatherings in mind – from sun-dappled breakfasts in the open-plan kitchen to marshmallow toasting around the fire pit. And, you might not be the only guests checking in – see swift migrations in spring and starling murmurations come autumn. It’s a right hoot watching the wildlife from the cottage’s huge windows, though the meadows and marshland are best explored à la Attenborough (just don’t forget your waterproofs).
