In an exclusive enclave of Zakynthos, Villa Marietta is an Ionian islands idyll, with an esteemed erstwhile neighbour: the cherished Greek poet Dionysios Solomos used to live in the mansion next door. The villa is amid a century-old olive grove, which it shares with another property (Villa Athina), and indoors you’ll find an open-plan living room, sea-facing bedrooms and glimpses of the scenic surrounding countryside through panoramic windows. It’s close to the hillside village of Akrotiri, Tsilivi beach and Zante town, and the concierges are a super squad who can make almost literally anything happen (from spa therapists appearing as if by magic to private yachts ready to charter).
