Have this grand Victorian house all to yourself (well, for up to 15 guests, plus two kids under-12 and two babies), by booking out all eight bedrooms. It’s set amid the grassy green splendour of the Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and you’ll basically be lord or lady of the manor, with the run of two stylish living rooms, a dining room filled with vintage finds, large shaker-style kitchen and a garden with a terrace for dining on, a fire pit and barbecue. Most rooms have views over the Fells, a king-size bed and an ensuite shower room, except for two closer to the back of the house, one of which has a single bed, the other a double. Each is uniquely decorated and one has a four-poster, another a chaise-longue and one a stained-glass window. Food and drink can be ordered in advance of your stay from owners Peter and Amanda, and the hall also has a digital TV and tea- and coffee-making kit in each room, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, Bramley bath products, free WiFi and bikes to borrow for an extra charge.
