After overlanding from England to Asia in the footsteps of Paul Theroux (missing the man himself by a few days in Turkmenistan), Ric worked as managing editor of SH Magazine in Shanghai and spent his free time exploring China's remote border regions (including an awkward expulsion from the country's easternmost inhabited islands). He is now editorial director at Asia City Media Group in Singapore, where he was voted the 2013 Editor of the Year.
