Matt Gibberd
Architecture advocate
Matt comes from a family of architects, and his grandfather – Sir Frederick Gibberd – was one of the Modern Movement's most influential figures. Yet his dad only ever gave him one piece of careers advice, and it was as bald as the head on his shoulders: 'Do anything you like, as long as it's not architecture.' Avoiding the frustrations of cantankerous clients and prohibitive planning laws, Matt has indulged his passion for buildings in every way possible without actually designing them. In 2004, he co-founded The Modern House, the UK's foremost estate agency for architect-designed property, and in his spare time he writes on architecture for The World of Interiors, The Sunday Telegraph and GQStyle.
