Carey makes her living writing about expensive cocktails, New York restaurant openings, and global travel, and yes, it's as glamorous as it sounds. Average days at the office could include an early morning noodle crawl in Hanoi, an aimless wander through the streets of Istanbul, or midnight bar-hops on any continent. After five years as the managing editor of food website Serious Eats, she now spends her days as a freelance writer and relishes the freedom to jet off and eat prosciutto in Parma whenever duty calls.
