Amy Cooper
Seen-it done-it scribe
Amy’s fascination with hotel minutiae comes as no surprise to her parents, who recall a child curiously obsessed with ice machines, shoe polishers and the housekeeper’s cupboard during family holidays. UK tabloid journalism and its long hours spent lurking in hotels in pursuit of celebrities suited her well, but after editing women’s magazines, writing dating columns in Australia and co-authoring a book about bad movies, Amy found her true calling writing about bars, parties and travel for The Sun-Herald. She remains at heart a frustrated hotelier. To this end, she recently mastered the art of towel sculpture and is particularly good at elephants and lobsters. Mr Smith is a tolerant man.
