Suite

Muhammad Ali posters, battered travel trunks and boxing gloves might add a whiff of machismo, but these rooms are universally stylish. All suites except Conte Trossi have a small courtyard-facing balcony. With dark moody tones, checkerboard tiles, patterned feature walls, a golf-themed room in course greens, some bold design choices have been embraced, but the gambit pays off. The 35sq m Suites each have a soft queen-size bed as well as a sitting and working area. The modern ensuite bathrooms have a rainfall shower, and suites have a flatscreen TV, Nespresso machine and kettle, WiFi, minibar, air-conditioning and CO Bigelow Chemists bath products. Some of these suites can accommodate a baby cot free, on request.

Junior Suite

Wes Anderson would feel entirely at home in these retro-chic 27sq m suites, sporting vintage tennis rackets, faded pennants and nostalgic ephemera. Four of these rooms (Touchdown, Pivot, Smash and Tiburon) have a small balcony facing the hotel’s courtyard. Sophisticated sombre palettes are enlivened with tartan and striped feature walls. There’s a double bed (or twins, on request), and the stylish ensuite bathroom is crafted from textured concrete and sleek wood with a walk-in shower, and Fencing and Slalom each have a bath tub, too. Suites have a flatscreen TV, Nespresso machine and kettle, WiFi, minibar, air-conditioning and CO Bigelow Chemists bath products; a baby cot can be added free to this suite, on request.

Styled like mini bachelor pads, each of these 35–55sq m spaces is dedicated to a different theme: for example, the Hunting Suite – a quirky safari room with zebra prints on the wall and vintage pith helmets, and the Cambridge room that’s fit for a team of British rowers. Each has a queen-size bed, a partitioned-off lounge and an ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower. Mustang and Winch have a small private balcony, and all have a flatscreen TV, Nespresso machine and kettle, WiFi, minibar, air-conditioning and CO Bigelow Chemists bath products. One extra bed can be added to these rooms, on request. On-request baby cots can also be added, free, and for a charge (€20 a night, for a guest aged 3–12; €40 a night for over-12s) the Cambridge room sleeps four in a double and two singles, and Mustang can sleep an extra guest on a sofa bed.

Gentlemen, start your engines: these 65–75sq m apartment stays are as tailored as a Savile Row suit, with luxurious fabrics, a moody colour palette, bold prints and mid-century-modern wooden furnishings. The Clubhouse and Penthouse each have a balcony overlooking the hotel courtyard, and in all rooms there are antique knick-knacks aplenty (riding boots, battered luggage chests, antique barometers), a distinguished selection of books and magazines, and artwork hung on the walls, too. Guests snooze in a queen-size bed, and the ensuite bathroom has a rainfall shower. Maisons have a flatscreen TV, Nespresso machine and kettle, WiFi, minibar, air-conditioning and CO Bigelow Chemists bath products. A baby cot can be added to each of these rooms for free, and Wicket can sleep up to four guests, the Penthouse one extra guest (€20 a night, for a guest aged 3–12; €40 a night for over-12s).
