In St Neo’s, head for the room with the hand-painted mural or grab a seat at the raw bar, where the oyster shuckers can tell you the story of the day’s catch.
If it’s appropriate for tee time or tea parties, it’ll fly here. Golf shirts and floating floral dresses are equally apropo.
Ms O’Hara would have approved – there’s no way you’ll go hungry at the Drayton. First, there’s St. Neo's Brasserie, a French-accented Southern belle of a restaurant, helmed by chef Chris Meenan. Selections at this seafood-centric brasserie change seasonally, but are always flavoured with a southern twist. For breakfast, crack into a crispy croque madame, smoked-salmon terrine with a slow-cooked egg or a plate of decadent doughnut French toast topped with Nutella and bananas brûlée. For lunch, come for mains of chicken and duck gumbo, blackened tuna Niçoise salad or burgers sandwiched between fluffy brioche buns. There’s also a full raw bar and all breads and desserts are made in-house. The Penthouse focuses on seasonally rotating seafood small plates – share orders of mini lobster rolls or roasted oysters while you take in panoramic views of Savannah’s riverfront from your table (indoors or alfresco). In a hurry to start your day wandering the city’s pretty squares? Coffee bar Counter Culture has you covered with grab-and-go brews and freshly-baked pastries every day of the week.
The rooftop bar has classic French-bistro seating and looks out over Savannah City Hall, the riverfront and Talmadge Memorial Bridge. Head up for sundowners with a view and alfresco light bites. Downstairs, the speakeasy-style cocktail lounge has dark, elegant decor and original prints from a photographer friend of the hotel’s owner. Sip on craft scotches, hard-to-find whiskeys and classic southern bourbon or ask the experts behind the bar to shake up a creative cocktails; we like the bourbon- and mezcal-based My Brother the Gun, laced with chocolate bitters, Angostura and rosemary.
The Coffee Bar is open from 7am–7pm, St Neo's Brasserie from 7am–10pm and the Penthouse from 10am–11pm. The rooftop bar is open 11am–11pm (2am on Fridays and Saturdays) and the cocktail lounge is open from 5pm-12am (2am on Fridays and Saturdays).
Order anything from the restaurant menus directly to your door between 7am and 9pm. Your in-room minibar is stocked with wines, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks and cocktail mixers; there’s also a handy selection of snacks from local brands.
