Housed in a separate building and looking out over valleys and hills, the 70sqm Bastidon Suite is particularly spacious, with a four-poster bed in the bedroom, a separate living room with fireplace, an ensuite bathroom and a dressing room – there’s even enough room for an extra bed and cot, too. Tactile materials such as stone floors, wood and Indian marble walls give the Bastidon a warm and luxurious feel. In the bathroom, there’s a walk-in shower, a double sink, and a large freestanding bath tub with views to the surrounding countryside. Fig and olive trees grow in the suite’s private garden, and there’s a terrace with a babbling Provençal fountain to soak up the sun. At the bottom of the garden, a hidden door gives direct access to the hotel’s swimming pool. The Bastidon is suitable for wheelchair users and has a flatscreen TV, DVD/CD, iPod dock, minibar, and Bains Plus cotton nightshirts.
