Spread over 197sq m, this magnificent four-room suite was built for Baron Jaques de Viennay, the château’s original owner. It has 17-foot-high ceilings, oak floors in a Versailles pattern and vast casement windows with sweeping views of the neoclassical gardens. There are three entrances (including a private door from the west garden), a bedroom with a king-size bed, a sitting room, a private library with a collection of French literature, and the grand Salon Chinois, named for its canvas-covered walls. The walls were painted in the Chinoiserie style by 18th-century artist Jean-Baptiste Pillement, who’s work also adorns the walls of the Petit Trianon at Versailles. The four rooms are filled with art, centuries-old antiques and extravagant fabrics. The bathroom is clad in marble and has a bath tub and walk-in shower. There’s also free WiFi, free bottled water and luxurious Buly 1803 bath products.
