Where you'll go
You’ll start in one of Lisbon’s central squares, where you’ll make your first foray into the city’s history (with the help of cartoons). Next, head along the riverbank to Mercado da Ribeira, now home to Lisbon’s famous Time Out Market (there’s potential for a snack stop here). Moving into Bica, you’ll have the chance to catch the old tram up the hill, before starting the scavenger hunt through Chiado. After walking through the Carmo Convent, you’ll return to sea level to recap and say your goodbyes.
What you'll learn
The experience kicks off with each family member picking something characteristic to Lisbon out of a bag, providing the themes for the tour. You’ll learn about why the city was so enticing to different traders and settlers, hear about the earthquake of 1755, spot saints and iconic buildings and go on a scavenger hunt through Chiado. All the way through, games and competitions keep things fun and light-hearted.
