Bardini to Boboli: Florence’s enchanted gardens

Bardini to Boboli: Florence’s enchanted gardens

Strolling through eight centuries of Florentine history is a walk in the park on this tour of the city’s emerald Edenic spaces.

Not content with making masterpieces out of their churches, monuments and mausoleums, those Florentine overachievers went and ornamented the outdoors, too. Gawk at their green thumbs – and get plenty of fresh air in the process – as you meander through manicured parkland, survey dome-dotted vistas and discover bountiful botanical corners.

Where you'll go
Formal gardens, fragrant gardens, Renaissance gardens and secret gardens. On this tranquil tour, you’ll see a surprising side of Florence: its lush greenery, open spaces and panoramic views. Walking shoes at the ready: you’ll tour five gardens – some famous, like the Unesco-protected Boboli Gardens – and a few hidden behind high walls that most tourists never see. There’ll be plenty of time to stop and smell the roses, too, plus a picnic on the lawn at your final pause. Prosecco included, ovviamente.
What you'll do
You’ll start at the cemetery of San Miniato al Monte, the final resting place for many famous Florentines. Things get much cheerier at your next stop, the Rose Garden, home to sprawling city views and 350 varieties of the sweet-smelling bloom. Next, you’ll admire the baroque splendour of the Bardini Gardens and fawn over the famed Boboli Gardens, the Medici’s humble allotment, home to gorgeous grottos and Renaissance sculpture. Finally, you’ll be admitted through a mysterious door to a private paradise of earthly delights…
Experience location
You’ll be meeting your garden guide at San Miniato al Monte on Via delle Porte Sante; we’ll send you the full details in your confirmation.
