Your Culinary Backstreets experience will be led by Paula Mourenza or Mireia Font. Since 2010 Paula has led the Culinary Backstreets team as its restaurant critic, experience designer and culinary tour leader. She’s also the Barcelona researcher for National Geographic’s show Top Tables, Top Cities and her work has been featured in USA Today and other major publications. Barcelona-born Mireia is a chef and author of two cookbooks on Catalan cuisine; she has also written for Time Out Barcelona, Vanity Fair Spain and other publications. You’ll typically find her savouring good food, giving cooking lessons, writing about cuisine and sharing her favourite places to eat with visitors like you.

Where you'll go
You’ll meet up in Gracia, away from the tourist crowds, for breakfast at a traditional restaurant. You’ll then explore local markets, a historic bakery and a vermuteria before settling in for lunch at a family-run restaurant and toasting the tour with a digestif at a traditional bodega.
What you'll sample
You’ll start with breakfast, sample Spanish coffee and Marcona almonds, savour salty jamón ibérico and locally made cheese, knock back an aperitif and tuck into lunch at a traditional local restaurant.
