When to go

You can visit Park City year-round, though obviously you won’t be shredding powder in July. Ski season typically runs December to early April. Main Street will be especially busy in January when Hollywood-types pop over for the Sundance Film Festival. Throughout winter, be prepared for average temperatures ranging from 24 to 33 degrees Fahrenheit. Average snowfall is 143 inches in town and 350 inches at the resorts. Summers are comfortable with an average high of 80 degrees and low humidity.

Getting there

  • Planes

The closest commercial airport is Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), which is 36 miles from Park City (about a 45-minute drive). You can catch a direct flight from most major US cities and connecting flights from cities abroad. Private jets fly into Heber City Municipal Airport (36U), just a 25-minute drive from Park City.
  • Automobiles

Rent your own wheels if you plan on venturing outside of town. There are nearly a dozen rental companies at Salt Lake City International Airport to choose from. Otherwise, taxi booths are located outside of door 7 in Terminal One and door 11 in Terminal Two at the airport.
