When to go

The weather is temperate year-round, but A Coruña’s seafront is sparkliest in summertime, between June and September. Even then, be prepared for moody weather – Galicia is known as the rainy region.

Getting there

  • Planes

    Vueling flies direct from London Heathrow to A Coruña Airport. If you’re coming from further afield, you’ll need to connect in Madrid. Santiago de Compostela’s airport is 30 minutes away by train or an hour by car – direct connections include Geneva, Paris, Zurich and London’s Stansted.

  • Automobiles

    Though there’s no call for a car in the walkable port city, it’s a popular pitstop on gourmet road trips from San Sebastián to Porto.
