    Though Trenitalia runs several services around the island, the nearest station to Polizzi Generosa is a 45-minute drive away.

    A car is recommended if you plan to explore beyond the town and out into the Madonie Natural Park. Points of interest, Agrigento, Cefalù, Palermo, Syracuse and Catania are between a one- and two-hour drive away; while Messina, Taormina and Marsala are slightly further afield.
