When to go

Game viewing is stellar all year round, with temperatures at their hottest from November to March during South Africa’s summer, which is also when Kwandwe gets most of its rainfall. Spring or autumn months are our tip for sweet-spot temperatures.

Getting there

• Planes

  Port Elizabeth and East London national airports are each two hours’ drive from Kwandwe Game Reserve. For arrivals by charter plane, the reserve has its own landing strip.

• Automobiles

  The roads are in excellent condition, suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles, although it’s more usual to rely on private transfers arranged by wherever you’re staying.
