Tales from our travels
The Porteño Suites at the Argentine capital’s 90-room Faena Hotel were born with passion in mind. Romantic red and glam gold hues rule in the living area, with luxe materials from leather to marble and crystal. The crisp white bed is topped with an artisanal fur throw; Philippe Starck designed the freestanding tub in the glass-walled bathroom. Sumptuous scarlet and white styling is the go across the awe-inspiring wining and dining spots, from antique-strewn, informal El Mercado to upscale El Bistro. The Pool Bar sports crown-shaped fountains; El Cabaret is the sultry tango club; Faena Spa seduces with a hammam.
