Andorra, the bijou principality between France and Spain has one of Europe’s highest life expectancy rates. It’s unclear whether this is because of its jawdropping Pyrenean scenery, world-class skiing and lofty mountain hikes, or perhaps duty-free shopping and high-altitude winemaking, but either way, the Andorrans are clearly doing something right…
Andorra has something of a go-large reputation, yet there are refined pockets of calm to be found – Encamp among them. With more of a village feel, Encamp enjoys easy access to the Grandvalira ski area, as well as walking or cycling trails.
With its up-and-down Pyrenean scenery – plus the highest-altitude capital in Europe – Andorra isn’t lacking for tourist-luring valleys. However, Incles Valley, in the north-east, is one of its most comely.
