Ubud Hanging Gardens
Best for
Babies or slightly older kids who will be able to handle the steep terrain.
Recommended rooms
There are six two-bedroom Valley View Family Pool Villas that comfortably sleep Mum, Dad and two Junior Smiths. Cots for tots can be added to any of the rooms.
Activities
There’s plenty to do around Ubud for all ages, but make sure you find out when the kite-making classes are being held at the resort. Local children, who are taught the craft at an early age, help young guests make their own flying diamonds. Your mini Smiths are also more than welcome if they want to join in with the Legong dance classes held twice a week. Special spa treatments are also available for kids older than six. They’ll also enjoy a visit to the Monkey Forest, although make sure they’ve got no food on them or anything the cheeky primates can steal.
Swimming pool
There’s no need to worry about kids spoiling the calm ambience around the infinity pool, since all villas have their own private (and spacious) plunge pools.
Meals
Children are more than welcome at the restaurant and café, where they can choose from their own menu. High chairs are available and staff members are happy to heat milk or baby food.
Babysitting
With six hours’ notice, the hotel can arrange a sitter for US$10 an hour.
No need to pack
Baby cots and high chairs.
Also
The hotel can’t add extra beds to the smaller villas, so families with children older than two years old (who can sleep in a cot) have to book the larger two-bedroom villas.
