Savannah-swathed lodge Kwandwe Melton Manor surveys the rolling hills of the Big Five-roaming Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Daily drives and guided walks ensure all eyes are on your wildlife-blessed surroundings; the same goes at the pool-crowned courtyard and lantern-lit boma, which can be the setting for starlit dinners or bush-soundtracked massages. And this high-spec safari stay scores more relaxation points: all meals and activities for little Smiths are included too.

First Glance

  • Melton Manor is a four-bedroom safari lodge in Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.
  • A private chef will prepare all your meals in the open-plan kitchen. The menus focus on fresh, South African fare, but everything can be tailored to your liking. Little Smiths can also help out with decorating cakes for high tea, making pizzas and baking cookies.
  • Opposite the breakfast bar is a large dining table and more formal seating area, which is typically used for post-drive debriefs. It has a TV, glass-fronted fireplace, wine rack stocked with local vintages and big sofas.
  • The second living room is cosy with homely furnishings, available-to-buy safari kit, a working fireplace and a TV; little Smiths might like to camp out in here.
  • All meals are included with the rate and staff will change dinner’s setting each day; you’ll dine in the indoor dining room, on the pool terrace, at the barbecue area or down at the bush-shrouded boma. Room service is also available throughout the day.
  • A private vehicle is included in your stay for twice daily game drives, as are guided walks, free childcare (arranged ahead) and laundry services.
  • A therapist can be arranged with advance notice for treatments in your room or down at the tucked-away boma.
