Firstly, and most importantly, I want Mr & Mrs Smith to have a long lasting, responsible and inclusive impact on our industry and our planet. We have set clear development goals alongside a series of tangible projects that will facilitate crucial conversations within the hotelier and hotel-lover community, driving a positive shift in mindset to spark real change.
We’re dedicated to championing the Mr & Mrs Smith properties that are leading the way in sustainability (big or small initiatives, they all count) and that have a positive impact on their local communities. We do this through dedicated collections and editorial but also draw on all our skills in content creation, innovation, communication and technology to ensure our members are able to make the most informed choices.
As a business, we have committed to supporting the protection of both land and sea through our partnerships with the World Land Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation. We do this by offsetting all business travel with donations to their pioneering preservation and restoration schemes. We’re now a completely remote-working company thus significantly reducing travel to and from workplaces. As a result, we’re paperless, too, and have committed to looking into contributions for switching our team’s home energy suppliers to green providers.
As co-founder and CEO, then, I want to personally make a pledge and a promise to keep sustainability as a key part of our business strategy and to continually promote sustainability to our members, our partners and our hoteliers. Through these means and through our future innovations, I think it’s vital for us to play our part in a more responsible rebuild of the whole travel industry.
