Luxury holidays in Aragon

One of three regions bordering France in the north-eastern corner of Spain, and therefore containing the mighty Pyrenees, Aragon’s heady days were its mediaeval dominance: large swathes of central Europe fell under its rule, including Mallorca and parts of France, Italy and Greece. These days, it’s hiking trails, horses and wine-tasting that rule. In fact, over half of the region’s population is centred on the city of Zaragoza. Beat a path through the ancient massifs and forests of the Sistema Ibérico mountain range, along idyllic stretches of the Ebro River (Spain’s largest), and the stark beauty of the Pyrenees’ Ordesa & Monte Perdido National Park.
