When to go

From March to May Sedona has a more spring-like feel; arrive then and you’ll avoid scorching temperatures. And, we assume, around this time the psychic energy is at its friskiest.

Getting there

• Planes

  Phoenix Sky Harbor is the closest airport, around a two-hour drive away. Or you could touch down in Tucson, a three-hour drive away.

• Automobiles

  You could hike everywhere, but a car really adds some oomph to those desert drives, and saves your boots some wear and tear. Otherwise there’s no public transport to speak of, so wheels are needed.
