The Astra Private Villa in Santorini is a cosy, cave-like retreat on the edge of the Astra Suites hotel. Downstairs, there’s a gym to stave off the effects of the entire blocks of feta that come as standard with any Greek salad; and there’s a fridge that can be pre-stocked with your essential rider items before arrival. The highlight has to be the sunset-favouring setting, where both views of the sparkling Aegean and the island’s famous sunsets are delivered straight to your day-bed, infinity pool and Jacuzzi – depending on where you’ve settled into.

  • With curvaceous interiors and ocean-views to boot, this two-storey private villa reflects Santorini’s classic whitewashed style.
  • On the ground floor there’s a small but fully-equipped kitchen, a guest bathroom and an open-plan living area with neutral sofas, a television and a dining table with space for six guests.
  • Children are welcome, but the villa is on a cliff and there are no special facilities for mini Smiths.

  • The villa is set in the village of Imerovigli, two kilometres away from Thira.
  • Direct flights to Santorini are available during the summer. At other times of the year, connecting flights and ferries are available from Athens.
  • The drive from both the port and the airport takes 15 minutes. Airport transfers are included in the rate.
  • Ferries also arrive from Mykonos, Crete and other Greek islands.
