Rocco Forte Private Villas

Style

Classic coastal casas

Setting

South of Sciacca

With the Verdura Resort for a neighbour, Rocco Forte Private Villas in Sicily’s wild west are in good company – the series of 20 standalone properties is at the entrance to the expansive, 570-acre estate, which stars a super spa, eight food and beverage outlets, a golf course and the Juventus academy. From their stranded, hilltop spot, the villas all have sparkling sea views and golf-course green in every direction. If the word ‘self-catering’ usually has you reaching for the Deliveroo app (and even hopping in a golf buggy and making for the main resort feels like too much effort), book a private chef to do all the hard work for you.

First Glance

  • The villa has a fully equipped kitchen, with Smeg appliances.
  • Welcome hampers include flowers, fruits, local sparkling wine, bread and snacks.
  • Private chefs and butlers can be booked on request, and the villa team can help with supermarket sourcing and pre-arrival shopping lists.
  • There are a total of eight restaurants and bars over at Verdura Resort, a short buggy ride away, including: good-day-guaranteeing Buongiorno for breakfast, superfoods at the Spa Bar, seafood restaurant on the sand Amare (with the daily catch displayed for you to pick from and have the chef cook) and the cliff-top trattoria Liolà, for classic Sicilian suppers of arancini, caponata and wood-fire-cooked pizza, served family-style to share around the table.
  • Stock your fridge wisely, or head over to make your selection from Verdura’s bars. For the best cocktails, go thirsty to Granita to try its signatures, which include the Sicilian Mojito, made using blood oranges grown on the estate.

  • A car will come in handy if you’re planning to explore the coastline’s classical temples, fishing villages and concealed coves – but if you intend to stay behind your electronic gate for the duration, no one’s judging.
