Amiata Private Village House is named for the dormant volcano dominating the view from its windows. This luxury three-bedroom casa on Monteverdi Tuscany hotel’s grounds is an original three-storey residence within a mediaeval village, offering an authentic country break with all modern comforts considered (wholly modern kitchens indoors and out, an espresso machine, sound-system…). The Val d’Orcia stretches out below the top-floor balcony and a private garden is set for alfresco meals amid the greenery. Summon a private chef to craft the kind of Italian feast Monteverdi Tuscasny excels at, or join the free weekly wine tasting in the estate’s Enoteca restaurant.

First Glance

  • Amiata Private Village House (183sq m) is traditionally Tuscan in style, with stone walls, beamed ceilings and interiors in warm colours. It’s set in a quiet side street of Castiglioncello – the hotel’s village – and sleeps up to six guests. Please note, there's a minimum stay of three nights.
  • The terracotta-hued, open-plan living and dining room on the third floor has a beamed ceiling and a wood-burning fireplace. There are sofas for all guests to comfortably sit on and a large wooden dining table which seats up to eight guests. A private balcony overlooks the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata.
  • The villa’s modern kitchen is next to the living room on the top floor. It’s impressively equipped, with an oven and hob, espresso machine and high-quality cookware, glassware, crockery and cutlery. There’s a breakfast island with stools, too, and a serving window into the dining room.
