On the edge of the Canggu coastline, Mandala the Home has paddy-field panoramas for miles and miles. Inside, the five-bedroom villa enlists local stone work, artisanal ceramics and colourful artworks for a high-spec finish. There’s an outdoor dining area and brass bar under the shade of scented jasmine and bougainvillea. It’s minutes from surfer-favoured Berawa Beach – and if your skills aren’t quite up to speed, instructors are on call. Yoga and fitness teachers can also be drafted, too, in if your rendang consumption is getting out of control.

  • There are five spacious bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.
  • The first 60sq m master bedroom has a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with patterned tiles, a shower and a bath tub, along with a terrace, copper hanging lamps and a pastel-pink armchair.
  • There’s another 60sq m room with an ensuite bathroom with a shower and tub.
  • The 40sq m bedroom on the ground floor by the garden has sliding glass doors and an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
  • There’s also a 40sq m bedroom right by the pool, with a queen-size bed, ensuite bathroom with a shower, marble floors and traditional prints on the textiles.
  • The final 40sq m bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with a shower.
  • One of the rooms can have twin beds on request.
