Setting

Garden of England escape

Artfully restored 18th-century Kingshill Farmhouse – on the delightfully secluded 3,000 acre Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent – has a trio of stylish, spacious living spaces, a cosy dining area and six garden-view bedrooms. The rustic-luxe villa is made for picturesque group getaways (up to 14 in total), and couples and small families can book single rooms. Farm-to-plate meals are served in the charming Linhay and barn buildings close by, and you'll get a Kent-sourced breakfast each morning. Or, you can request a serviced stay where breakfast will be arranged by your host and extra lunches, dinners and drinks can be arranged in-residence for an extra fee. Wake up to delicately trilling birdsong, spend your days traipsing through the storybook-inspiring wilderness and while away your evenings telling tales around the crackling embers of your garden’s own fire pit. Perfectly toasted marshmallows to go with that evening scotch (there’s a stash in the snug’s whisky cupboard)? Don’t mind if we do…
