The Keemala Tent Pool Villas may have the word tent in their title, but we promise you’ll be able to stand up straight in them – and you certainly won’t find yourself manhandling any pegs or portable gas stoves. Instead, emerge from the canopied pod for a dip in the private pool, revel in the fact that your ‘tent’ has an enormous, comfortable bed, or marvel at the existence of the ensuite (no traipsing across muddy fields for a shower will be necessary here). You even get a sun deck, which looks out over the resort towards the Andaman Sea.

  • Keemala is on the eastern side of Phuket, an island off the southern tip of Thailand. The resort is around two kilometres from the coast.
  • From the airport, the drive takes around 45 minutes. Flights and transfers can be arranged with the Smith24 team; call any time, day or night.
  • There are two road choices from the airport: coastal route 4018 will add 10 minutes to your journey, but the scenery will make it well worthwhile. For speed, opt for inland route 402.
  • Island-hoppers arriving from other Thai ports can drop anchor at Rassada Pier; from here, it’s an hour’s drive to Keemala.
