You’ll soon have an idea of the kind of place Dar el Sadaka is, thanks to the giant sheep lazing by the pool that you’ll spot as you stroll through the lush gardens. The palm-lined Palmeraie palace is the creation of the French visual artist Jean-François Fourtou and, boy, is it fun living inside his imagination. The house has nine bedrooms and a full squad of staff, so you won’t have to lift a finger during your fully catered stay. It’s a 20-minute drive into the madness of the medina but, back at bucolic basecamp, you’ll feel a million miles away.
