On a hillside across the valley from the Castello di Reschio, Col delle Noci is a family-friendly farmhouse for groups of up to six. The 17th-century building has been converted to have a classic but contemporary decor, with the vaulted walls, arched doorways and beamed ceilings intact. The grounds are the show-stealer here, and those who like their horticulture to have a distinctly Mediterranean flavour will be pleased – lavender bushes, olive groves, towering cypress trees: check. Inside, terracotta floors, exposed brickwork and wooden doors continue the Italian elegance. And the family running the estate are on hand to arrange activities and just about anything else.
