Growing up as a third-culture kid in Bangkok, I was always stumped by the question: 'Where are you from?' I was born in Los Angeles, raised in Bangkok, educated in New York, and I've had a lifelong case of extreme wanderlust. Today, I'm happiest when travelling with my family – whether it’s sightseeing our way around Europe or trekking across New Zealand.

This serene stay may swiftly convince you that it’s not a hotel at all, but your personal summer hideaway. Leave room in your suitcase for a bottle of their wine, made on site, to help draw out the illusion that much longer.

Their Thai and Laotian restaurant is a must for me every time I’m home in Bangkok. I’ve never had Thai food so spicy – and yet still flavour-packed – that you persevere through the heat, bite after bite; for a local, that’s saying a lot.
