Deposit Policy

Strattons requires a deposit of a one-night stay, which will be charged to you directly by the hotel. The remaining balance is due on check-out.

Cancellation Policy

​For cancellations or amendments made less than 7 days of arrival, there may be a charge of up to 100 per cent of the room rate for any nights that cannot be resold. Nights that can be resold will not be charged for. Deposits may be transferred or refunded in full if a cancellation is made more than 7 days before arrival. For peak periods, including New Year, bank holidays and for group bookings of two rooms or more, any cancellations or amendments must be made at least four weeks before arrival to avoid the penalty charge.

These two rooms are individually designed, and each has a flatscreen TV and DVD player, minibar and free WiFi. CoCoes Two sits in a converted cottage just opposite the main hotel. Accessed via an external, then internal staircase, the room has bold statement furnishings – a striped Louis XVI chest of drawers and king-size bed with an embellished headboard – and an ensuite with a shower. Open-plan Linen, in the main building, has a patterned and padded feature wall and a double bed; the ensuite has a combined shower and bath tub, and shy guests should note that it's separated from the bedroom by a modesty wall, but no door. It also has a large decked balcony with sunloungers and a small dining set.

These artist-designed rooms in the main hotel each have a double or king-size bed, minibar, TV, DVD, WiFi and an ensuite bathroom with a combined bath tub and shower (Portico has a tub with a hand-held shower attachment). The decor varies from room to room: Seagull has chocolate-hued wallpaper; Venetian is bright and light, with dove-grey walls, an ornate wooden bed and colourful artwork on the walls; Portico is ladylike, with Wedgewood blue walls, splashes of warm colour and a mosaic-adorned bath tub (and can be set up with twin beds); Fantouche has a small balcony and is grand on the inside, with a chandelier and hand-blocked wallpaper. Venetian, Portico and Fantouche can each accommodate a baby cot for £10 per night.

The suites each have a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a separate bath tub and shower, minibar, TV and WiFi. Boudoir takes a cue from the Renaissance, with a few cherubs fluttering across the walls and grand chandeliers; in the bathroom there's a roll-top bath tub and a shower. Edie has a red leather padded headboard, a bathroom tiled with green mosaics, and Osborne and Little flock wallpaper, and a few portraits of Edie the dog. These suites are in the main building. Edie has a sofa bed which can sleep one adult (£60 a night, including breakfast) or two children under five (£25 a child each night, including breakfast), and Boudoir can fit one extra bed (£25 a night for children under 15, including breakfast), although given the room's shape, this will limit space; both can accommodate a baby's cot (£10 a night).

Located in a former stable block opposite the main building, this large suite is decorted in a colourful pop art style, with ‘lip’ pillows on the king-size bed, cerise wing-back chairs a cage wardrobe and Persian rugs. Both rooms are housed in a converted print workshop set a short walk from the main hotel. Print One is equipped with a film projector and screen, and it's a colourful character too, with fuchsia sofas (scattered with Carol Lake's botanical-print cushions), a landscape mural over one wall, wooden floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and lashings of space. This room accepts pets and can sleep up to three children under 15 in extra beds (£25 per child per night including breakfast) and fit a baby's cot (£10 a night) on request. Print Two has an open-plan lounge and bedroom that can be made up as twins, and a decked, furnished balcony studded with potted plants; it can be reached by an external staircase. It has a saffron-leather Chesterfield and wingback chairs, pale wooden floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and a patio studded with pot plants.

The suite is located on the ground floor of the main hotel's Victorian wing, with south-facing views over the front garden. Red Room has a private walled courtyard, fully working open fire and a Jacobean four-poster. This suite has a sofa-bed which can sleep up two children under five under 5 (£25 a child each night, including breakfast), or one extra adult (£60 for an adult each night, including breakfast) and can fit a baby's cot (£10 a night).
