Soak in the city views from the family-friendly lap pool and its surrounding sundeck and lounge, up on the second floor.
Unwind with holistic treatments in one of the five Six Senses spa pods; choose from seaweed and eucalyptus sea salt scrubs, purifying urban facials, massages and mud wraps. There are more extensive spa rituals too, including the two-hour-long Wellness Retreat starts with a Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation and includes an amethyst relaxation ritual, shoulder massage, Himalayan salt scrub and rose body mask. End your treatment of choice with some time in one of the two relaxation rooms or a rebalancing yoga or meditation session (the latter two can be booked in advance).
Bring your most glam yoga gear for alfresco stretch sessions and effortlessly elegant threads for evenings in the social lounge or under the stars.

Six Senses Maxwell has two on-trend eateries: Six Senses Brasserie and Cook & Tras Social Library. The former borrows the building’s original name and served seasonally changing southern European fare, including grass-fed meats, sustainable seafood and vegetarian brasserie dishes. There’s an international wine list on hand for pairings too. Cook & Tras Social Library serves sharing plates Singapore Straits-heritage fare and an expansive range of cocktails; breakfast is served there too.
Choose from a trio of bars for you tipples: Max’s Rooftop, Garcha’s and Rose Lounge & Bar. Poolside Max’s has the best views of the city from its rooftop perch; order light bites and refreshing drinks from its organic-focused menu. For aperitifs and digestifs, look to spirits bar Garcha’s, which has quite the stash of small batch and artisanal whisky, tequila, gin, rum and vodka. Too stuffed to move after dinner? Flag down Garcha’s after-dinner drinks trolley for tableside service. In search of champagne, chilled rosé and spritzers? The suitably named Rose Lounge & Bar is for you – don’t miss out on the signature bubbly Rose Bellini.
Six Senses Brasserie serves breakfast from 6.30am to 10.30am, lunch from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. Cook & Tras is open daily from 6.30am to 10.30am. Garcha’s is open from 11am to midnight and Max's is open from 11am to 10pm.

Six Senses Maxwell is in the heart of Singapore’s bustling Chinatown.
Changi International Airport is 20 minutes away by car; have Sir Harold, the hotel’s black London cab pick you up for SG$80 each way, or ask the hotel to arrange transfers in various makes of Mercedes for SG$140-220 each way, depending on model and number of guests.
Tanjong Pagar station is four minutes away by car.
It’s easier to rely on Singapore's stellar public transport than to drive in the city, but if you are wheeling around you can use the public car park around the corner from the hotel for SG$2 an hour.
Worth getting out of bed for
Limber up with the hotel’s twice-weekly yoga sessions, held in the bijou urban park behind the property; each ends with a traditional sound bath. Active types can sneak in an alfresco workout in the public fitness stations scattered around the Duxton Plain Park and Pearl’s Hill City Park. Guests can also borrow from the hotel’s mini-fleet of Tokyo bikes to pedal through the neighbourhood and local parks. Maxwell Food Centre (1 Kadayanallur Street), one of Singapore’s most famous hawker markets, is just across the road from the hotel. Peruse the stalls and sample traditional local fare made from recipes that have been handed down for generations. The hotel can book you a seat on a tea-appreciation class at Yixing Xuan Teahouse; you’ll learn about Chinese culture, various kinds of tea and traditional tea-preparation techniques. There’s also a shop so you can take home a bag of your new favourite tea. And if the tea ceremony leaves you feeling full of good health, up the ante with a traditional Chinese-medicine consultation and health reading at a nearby clinic. We know you’ve probably seen enough temples to last this lifetime, but if you’re keen to spin a prayer wheel, wander down the road to the brilliantly ornate Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and give it a whirl.
Brunch like a superstar at Don Ho, where you can order plates of avocado bruschetta, truffle mac ‘n’ cheese and the rock ’n’ roll-royalty-approved King Elvis: a decadent brioche French toast with peanut butter, jam, toffee bananas and candied bacon. To wash it all down, the lychee-laced La Vie en Rose cocktail will have you feeling fine in no time. Grab burgers at Potato Head Folk, a restaurant and cocktail bar that holds court in one of Chinatown’s iconic art deco buildings. Test your spice tolerance with a Burning Man burger – stacked high with smoked cheddar, roasted jalapeño relish and hot ketchup – or tuck into a bacon-y Smokin’ B-Boy on a pillowy brioche bun. Don’t skimp on the fries, which come in ‘naughty’ (hot), ‘corny’ (topped with pickled sweet corn) and truffle cheese forms, to name a few. Get back to basics at Coconut Club with classic nasi lemak – a Malaysian rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. Follow up your ayamgorengberempah(coconut rice with chicken, fried egg and sambal) with sticky sweet bite-size kuihmuih rice cakes. Doll up for dinner at OSO Ristorante, which specialises in Italian cuisine from every corner of the country. Can’t decide between the truffle risotto and the wild boar stracci? The chef’s tasting menu (choose from five to eight courses) will give you a culinary vespa spin around the land of pasta and wine – mamma mia! And with its 27th-floor vantage point, you’ll get sweeping views of the Singapore skyline, too.
The irreverent bartenders at The Spiffy Dapper shake up classic cocktails with a bit of cheek in nearby Amoy Street. G&T lovers, take note: gin aficionado/master barman George also hosts masterclasses and tasting sessions; settle in to sample from his impressive collection. For cocktails spiced with turmeric and cinnamon, muddled with mango and mixed with tapioca, head to cocktail bar Native, which infuses its craft concoctions local ingredients and a healthy dose of flair.

Sitting proudly on a corner in Singapore’s Chinatown, boutique hotel Six Senses Maxwell occupies a group of former colonial shop houses (you’ll see some of the influence inside), all joined up and thoroughly modernised, with French style courtesy of designer Jacques Garcia. Step into the blissfully airy lobby and you’ll likely clock two of the hotel’s modern eateries and as many tempting bars – there’s a third (not-to-be-missed) spot for refreshing cocktails on the rooftop too, next to the glittering city-view pool. Rooms are airy and bright, with cushioned headboards draped in colonial prints, tactile velvet armchairs and large, light-loving windows. Settle in a take a few leisurely laps in the rooftop pool, flag down the ice cream tricycle (treats are gratis for guests) or stretch out with a yoga session (held in the neighbouring park). Be as health-conscious as you’d like – traditional Chinese medicine consultations can be arranged and a Six Senses spa is in the works – or dive into decadence with elaborate cocktails and Singaporean sharing plates in the Cook & Tras Social Library. Location of the hotel and how tucked away it is, quiet but in a bustling area. Interesting and healthy breakfast options. The eager and friendly staff. The ambiance of the place and plenty of quiet places to sit and work. The great cocktail list. The sense of space and calm in the room. Helpful in booking a manicure and pedicure nearby. Good for a business stay as wifi is included with your room and easy to use.
Cheap drinks in the bar/lounge downstairs, but think of it as a small charge for the lovely space. Very experienced staff as the hotel has just opened.
