Guyana and Insight, the resort’s two pool villas, are built in the style of local fishermen’s huts, with thatched roofs, teak and pebbledash accents and antique statement pieces; there’s also artwork by Keralan artist Devadas on the walls. Both cottages have serene views of the pool, and are just a barefoot stroll from the beach. There’s a double bed, and an ensuite bathroom that opens out onto the garden courtyard, with an outdoor rain shower and twin sinks. There’s no TV, but cottages aren’t lacking in tech, with free WiFi, an iPod dock, desk, air-conditioning, black-out curtains and Kama Ayurveda bath products.
Garden View Cottage
Each of these eight traditionally styled cottages – crafted to look like local fishermen’s huts – has a thatched roof, teak flooring, handmade furnishings and carefully chosen antique pieces. All have a sheltered porch overlooking the lush tropical gardens (some have hammocks) and colourful Keralan artwork hanging on the walls. There’s a double bed (Dana, Shakti and Sneha can be converted to twin beds, on request) and an ensuite bathroom with an open-air rain shower and twin sinks (the Maitri and Sneha cottages have a bath tub, too). These villas don’t have a TV, but they’re kitted out with free WiFi and an iPod dock, and there’s a desk, air-conditioning, black-out curtains and Kama Ayurveda bath products.
Sea View Cottage
Six of the resort’s traditional villas – with the thatched roofs, antique furnishings and teak and stone accents found in local fishermen’s cottages – have sweeping blue views of the Arabian Sea and superlative sunrises, and are close to the beach. Each has a shaded porch on which to relax, and indoors there’s a soft double bed (or twin beds on request for all but Santosh and Virya), seating area, and work by local artists. The bathroom is partially open air, spilling out onto the garden courtyard, with a rain shower and twin sinks (Sama and Santosh each have a bath tub, too). Cottages are TV free, but there’s free WiFi, an iPod dock, desk, air-conditioning, black-out curtains and Kama Ayurveda bath products.
Private Pool Cottage
Crafted from rust-hued laterite stone, teak and thatch to look like a traditional Keralan fishing hut, this garden-view cottage has handmade furnishings and antique finds. Spacious and light, tucked away amid tropical foliage, the cottage has a double bed (twin beds on request) and a very private indoor-outdoor bathroom that extends into the garden courtyard, with a rain shower and twin sinks. There’s no TV, but villas have free WiFi and an iPod dock, and there’s a desk, air-conditioning, black-out curtains and Kama Ayurveda bath products.
