Intenso is housed in a stylish modern building, about 150 metres from the main building; it has an furnished patio with garden views, and indoors there’s a fireplace, sofabed, a king-size bed and an ensuite with a bath tub. Secluded Dolce is in a 18th-century barn about a 300-metre walk from the main villa. It's a characterful stay with rough lava-stone walls, a floating bed, exposed wooden ceiling beams and bright coloured artwork.

Suite Amabile (45sq m) – in the main building – is set for honeymooners, with dramatic, rough, black-lava-stone walls, sloping beamed ceilings, views of Etna’s peak from your shuttered window, a fireplace; and a freestanding, deep-soaking Jacuzzi tub by the king-size bed. However, there's a double sofabed should families or groups wish to stay. There’s a dinky bathroom with a glass shower, built into the eaves too and plenty of personal touches: art books and prints, antiques and coffee-table books. Fresco (50sq m), on the ground floor of the main building, is more modern with white walls and colourful artwork. There's a separate living room and a sea-view patio too. All suites have individually controlled air-conditioning, a minibar and free WiFi are all to hand.

Two suites are housed in a more modern purpose-built building 300 metres from the main villa. Fragrante (50sq m) is light grey with a floating bed, a working fireplace and a balcony with a Jacuzzi overlooking the vineyard. There's a double sofabed too. Tannico (60sq m) is similarly contemporary in style, with a separate lounge, working fireplace and a Jacuzzi on a vineyard-facing balcony. Three more suites are housed in an 18th-century lava-stone barn on the hotel's grounds, also a 300-metre walk from the main building. Brilliante (50sq m) has rough-stone walls, exposed ceiling beams and an open plan bedroom and living room with a double sofabed and fireplace. Its ensuite only has a walk-in shower. Minerale (60sq m) is housed where where there was a former wine press; the floating bed sits on a raised platform and there's an alcove with a single bed. Limpido (55sq m) has a vaulted, beamed ceiling, whitewashed and rough-stone walls, a fireplace and a double sofabed. This suite has an outdoor shower too. All sofabeds are available on request only.

These two suites sit in a separate mini villas, both 300 metres from the main hotel. Sontuoso (50sq m) has the same mix of black-lava stone walls, antiques and original artwork as Monaci delle Terre Nere’s other rooms; but here the king-size bed sits atop a small (sadly defunct) palmento wine press. The separate living area has a fireplace; and individually controlled air-conditioning, a minibar and free WiFi are all provided. The ensuite has a glass shower and the villa has a garden patio with views of the surrounding countryside and the Mediterranean. Complesso (65sq m) also has a separate living area and ensuite, but it's much more modern in style, with wooden floors, splashes of bright colour and cow-hide rugs. These rooms are also suitable for families and can accommodate up to four adults.
