Chambre Maurice

  • 2guests
Gather round, it’s storytime: this room is named for both Baron Maurice Foache (the manor’s original owner) and successive owner Maurice Delmas who was fond of fishing with grenades on the grounds (no longer allowed, we’re afraid…) In gentler deconstructive fashion, one wall shows the original exposed plaster. There’s also a fireplace, canopied bed, French doors leading to a Juliet balcony, and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower and roll-top bath tub with a view of the greenery. Alongside a smattering of antiques, there’s a Nespresso machine, a selection of teas and free WiFi – but no TV.

Chambre Christiane

  • 2guests
This room on the second floor is entitled to its airs and graces; it’s a ‘chambre supérieur’ thanks to its full balcony, with a little table over which to clink glasses. It’s named after a former occupant, author Christiane Delmas, whose books can be found within, and the room has a light, ladylike feel with pastel hues, portraits on the walls and an elegant antique French bed, dressed with Egyptian cotton. There’s a roll-top bath tub and walk-in shower in the bathroom, and you’ll have a Nespresso machine, selection of teas and free WiFi. There’s no TV, but Miss Delmas’ potboilers will entertain you.

Chambre de l'Ecrivain

  • 2guests
This suite – whose name translates to ‘the Writer’s Room’ – has finely detailed mouldings, an original fireplace and a curved Juliet balcony. It’s notable for its private salon and roll-top bath tub at the foot of the bed, but we especially love the room’s regal walk-in ‘tower shower’. Antiques and heirlooms are arranged throughout, and a neutral palette makes the room feel fresh. All rooms have a Nespresso machine and a selection of teas and free WiFi. In the absence of a TV, perhaps pick up a pen and get scribbling.

Suite de l'Étang

  • 2guests
Historic features characterise this spacious suite, where exposed plaster walls and original estate plans sit against reclaimed hardwood flooring and neutral hues. Alongside the bedroom, with its canopied bed, there’s an elegant salon with a fireplace, and French windows opening out onto a Juliet balcony. The bathroom has a roll-top bath tub and a walk-in shower, and all rooms have a Nespresso machine, a selection of teas and free WiFi. There’s no TV, but the views from the window will suffice.
