Deluxe Bungalow

  • 2adults
Designer Steve Hermann hasn’t skimped on the retro detailing in these head-turning 330–360sq ft bungalows : we love the filament lamps, the decorative tiles and the monochrome prints, and the wood panelling in the bathroom and the vintage statement furnishings make the bungalows feel a little Mad Men. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the bedroom with sunshine; there’s a custom-made king-size bed with Frette linens, a marble-lined bathroom with a rainforest shower and a cacti-dotted terrace. Bungalows are kitted out with a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.

Handsome wood panelling, beamed ceilings, vintage furnishings (with a few modern pieces thrown in) and a sunny cacti-dotted terrace make this 330–350sq ft stay feel like a throwback to a more glamorous time. Walls of windows overlook the pool; indoors, there’s a soft king-size bed dressed in Frette linens and a marble-lined bathroom with a rainforest shower. Bungalows have a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.

Premier Pool

Admire the prickly beauty of the saguaro cactus and its succulent lookalikes in this elegant 360sq ft residence, which has its own terrarium. It’s best viewed from the full-length glass-walled shower – but don’t worry, your nude-plant-admiring sessions won’t be disturbed by peeping neighbours. Designer Steve Hermann has evoked Palm Springs’ famed mid-century-modern elegance in revamping the bungalows – vintage furnishings, black-and-white chevron prints and beamed ceilings are bathed in California sunlight through walls of windows. There’s a marble- and wood-lined bathroom, and a furnished terrace just steps from the pool. Bungalows have a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.

Fireplace Junior Suite Bungalow

  • 2adults
If you want a room with a little extra sparkle, this 560sq ft bungalow once hosted Marilyn Monroe. Spend your days building your tan on the furnished sun terrace or taking a post-pool shower outdoors; when temperatures dip to desert lows at night, stoke up the copper fireplace by the super-soft king-size bed and get cosy. Bungalows have a mix of vintage and modern furnishings, a marble-lined bathroom with a rainforest shower, and plenty of tech (a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine). The pool is just steps away, too.

Junior Suite Bungalow

A suite sleek enough to make you feel like a Golden Age glamourpuss: these 480–520sq ft bungalows are stylishly wood lined, jazzed up with monochrome prints and furnished with covetable mid-century-modern pieces. The super-size suite gets plenty of desert sunshine through glass walls of windows in the bedroom, but there’s also a furnished terrace with an outdoor shower. There’s a king-size bed with Frette linens, a living area with leather couches and marble-lined bathroom, where you’ll find another shower. All bungalows have a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.

Premier Bungalow

Fit for a movie star, past or present, these 350–370sq ft hideaways have chic chevron tiling, beamed ceilings, retro wood panelling and floor-to-ceiling walls of windows in the bedroom. Designer Steve Hermann shows his era-spanning savvy in the details: we love the vintage glass decanters, modern filament lights by Bert Frank and the gold-hued bathroom fittings. There’s a terrarium with eye-catching cacti configurations, a king-size bed with Frette linens, and a glass-enclosed shower overlooking the terrace (don’t worry, it’s hidden away from other guests). Bungalows have a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.

These retro-cool 470–520sq ft villas each have mid-century-modern furnishings (and a few modern statement pieces), beamed wooden ceilings and lots of sunshine through window walls in the bedroom. Guests can sun themselves on the terrace or cool off in the outdoor shower, and the pool is just a short walk away. There’s a dreamily soft king-size bed with Frette linens, a marble bathroom with a rainforest shower, and a seating area with cool leather couches (vintage, naturally). Residences are kitted out with a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machine, minibar and Le Labo bath products.

The Residence

Keen-eyed guests may notice that this 2,000sq ft bungalow is just slightly more luxurious than the rest, with a private pool and deck, jaw-dropping mountain views, full kitchen and wood-burning fireplace… Well, it did originally belong to Jack Wrather, big-time movie mogul and the guy who built the hotel. It’s as elegant as it was when famed Fifties architect William F Cody first designed it: the living room, dining room and bedroom are bedecked with vintage furnishings and modern Italian pieces and the large bathroom is lined in wood and marble, with two rainforest showers and twin sinks – there’s an outdoor shower, too. The custom-made king-size bed is dressed in Frette linens, and all bungalows have a TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, a minibar and Le Labo bath products.
