Equipped with a flatscreen TV and DVD player, free WiFi and a minibar, these rooms are individually decorated in quirky fashion. The 21sq m British Landscape room, on the ground floor, is decorated in shades of hot pink and blue and is hung with pictures of British landscapes – it’s idiosyncratic, yet kookily chic, and its ensuite has a walk-in shower. The 26sq m African Lodge, also on the ground floor, has a zebra-print rug and drawers, private access, an ensuite with a walk-in shower, and views of the vineyard and courtyard. The decadent white-and-gold Stella di Mare (28sq m) room has crystal chandeliers and a corner tub big enough for two in its ensuite.

All suites have a flatscreen TV and CD/DVD player, free WiFi and a minibar. Both Junior Suites are 30sq m in size, but they’re very different in style. Asian Mood is on the first floor and has a bold red-and-blue theme, a red Murano glass chandelier, heavy silk curtains, oriental rugs and a big wrought-iron birdcage in the corner. The walls are decorated with Chinese-style pictures and drawings, and the white stone fireplace is partly hidden by a large red paper parasol. The room has views over the park and vineyard, and has an ensuite with a bath tub and shower. Rustic-chic Campagne Française is a first-floor suite that overlooks the garden, natural swimming pool and vineyards. It has dark-wood flooring, a king-size bed with a patchwork quilt, a large stone fireplace supporting an antique mirror, and a large gold chandelier. The ensuite has a black stone floor and wall tiles, a white marble sink and a corner tub.

The hotel has three suites, each individually decorated and equipped with a flatscreen TV and CD/DVD player, free WiFi and a minibar. The 50sq m Bordeaux Blend suite, on the upper floor of the Relais de Poste building, is 100m from the main château. It has views over the Saint Emilion vineyards, and stylish décor, with wood flooring, and a back-lit king-size bed (twin beds are available on request). The large ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, and there are tea- and coffee-making supplies too. The 48sq m Anglophile-pleasing Oxbridge suite, also in the Relais de Poste building, is outfitted with Union Flags and red, white and blue hues. Enjoy a glass of wine as you gaze across the Saint Emilion vineyards from its private terrace. The historic tiled floor has been retained, and there’s a king-size bed (or twin beds, on request). Tea and coffee supplies are in the bedroom, and the ensuite bathroom has a whirlpool bath. Accessed by a private wooden stairway, the 24sq m Chalet Suisse wood cabin is nestled among cedar trees, with a private terrace overlooking Saint Emilion vineyards. A spiral staircase from the terrace leads to a natural swimming pool, and the decor is Swiss-themed. There’s a king-size bed (or twins on request), an ensuite shower room and a separate WC. The cabin is designed to be a relaxing woodland hideaway: accordingly, there's no television.
