Setting

Mexican wilderness

Nature-lovers will come over all Wordsworthian here, thanks to the magnificent Mexican scenery; a serene spa, dazzling restaurant and adventurous treehouse casitas add manmade flourishes to the mix, too. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a quick peek inside Hotel Rodavento in Valle de Bravo

Man’s interplay with Mother Nature hasn’t always been pride prompting. At Hotel Rodavento, though, it most definitely is. The handsome hideaway is an architecturally dazzling addition to the serene, green landscapes: its striking steel-and-wood casitas star stretched-canvas ceilings and light, natural materials. Life here is a happy marriage of the great outdoors and creature comforts – days spent abseiling, zip-lining, paragliding, hiking and horse riding wind down with pampering sessions in the spa and relaxed meals in the restaurant. Nature plays a staring role at both of the above, with herb-packed treatments at the spa and the freshest local produce and fish dominating the menu at La Cocina de Rodavento. Hotel Rodavento also skillfully manages to suit adventurous families and couples alike, offering a wealth of activities for all ages without compromising an inch on style…
