The hotel’s de facto honeymoon suite (55sq m) has a Giò Ponti-designed bar worthy of a Fifties playboy on the upper mezzanine level and a petite terrace where you can drink your freshly shaken cocktails in the sun. From its top-floor perch, windows overlook the capital. The original beams of the 17th-century building are exposed alongside artfully patinated walls and parquet floors. There’s a vintage king-size bed with cosy blankets, a bedside table and wardrobe by Guglielmo Ulrich, and a small seating area; a separate lounge with a Dassi desk and statement pieces by Venetian designers Seguso and Venini; and an ensuite lined in Seletti mirrored tiles with a walk-in shower. Nicola Pecorara artwork hangs on the walls, and each junior suite plus has a flatscreen TV, iPod dock, Smeg mini fridge, bottled water, tea and coffee-making facilities, and bespoke bath products.

Generously sized at 70sq m, and positioned at the top of the hotel – with some city views – this elegant retro-chic suite has a cosy cushion-strewn terrace, from which guests can glimpse the dome atop the Church of St Agnes. Interiors have been inspired by Venice, with Murano glass chandeliers hung from the beamed ceiling and statement furnishings by Venetian designers Seguso and Venini. There’s a Dassi dining set too. On the upper mezzanine level, there’s a king-size bed an oversized sofa, Reggiani lamps, a Paolo Piva coffee table and sculptural hangings made of salvaged frames from a Sicilian church. On the lower level there’s a dining area with a vintage kitchenette (sink, crockery and cutlery) and a bathroom with silver Seletti tiles, an antique mirror, Guglielmo Ulrich wardrobe claw-foot bath tub and walk-in shower. Each suite has a flatscreen TV, iPod dock, Smeg mini fridge, bottled water, tea and coffee-making facilities, and bespoke bath products.

These seriously stylish pieds-à-terres have 95sq m of floorspace, comprising of two double bedrooms (shielded by velvet curtains rather than doors), a living room, kitchenette and two bathrooms (one with a shower and separate bath tub, the other with a combined shower and bath tub). Polished mid-century modern furnishings and avant-garde artwork accentuate the apartment’s patinated walls, original painted wooden ceilings, and parquet and tiled flooring. We especially like the elaborate golden light fixture in the hallway, the berry-hued velvet armchairs and vintage arches in lieu of headboards. Created by combining a Suite and Pasquino Suite Plus, this apartment (130sq m) takes up the whole top floor of the hotel. It’s strung with Murano glass chandeliers, furnished with statement pieces by Seguso and Venini, and its exposed original beams and patinated walls add character. There are two double bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and an ensuite. The 15sq m terrace is strewn in colourful cushions and throws and offers a peek at the dome on the Church of St Agnes. There are also two super-stylish living rooms with mid-century modern seating by iconic designers and a fully equipped kitchenette each.
