Eichardt's Private Hotel

This internal suite was once used to store gold from the neighbouring bank during the region’s gold rush. Now, this 55sq m suite has a large lounge area, a separate bedroom with a king-size bed and a marble ensuite bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower that’s big enough for two. Skylights provide natural light, but this has no traditional windows (it was a vault, after all). The suite has free WiFi, a TV, a minibar with free non-alcoholic goodies, tea- and coffee-making kit, free bottled water and air-conditioning.

The two spacious Lakefront Apartment One-Bedroom Suites (90 sq m) feature a super king-size bed, separate living area, work space, well-equipped kitchenette and private balcony with gorgeous lake views. In the underfloor-heated bathroom, there’s a generous spa bath tub, walk-in shower and double basins. Decor is opulent and comfortable, with opossum throws, comfortable furnishings and an inviting fireplace. All the Lakefront Apartments are separate from the main hotel building, situated 50 metres along the lake.

Taking in sweeping vistas over Queenstown and the Skyline Gondola, the two Mountain View Suites (80sq m) in the main lodge each feature a super-king bed, separate dressing room, lounge area, workspace and private balcony. The bathroom has a generous bath tub, double sinks, a separate shower, underfloor heating and heated mirrors. A cosy fireplace, comfortable armchairs and soft fur throws promise perfect après-ski evenings.

The three Lake View Suites (80sq m) in the main lodge take in stunning views of Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown Bay. These rooms include a super-king bed, separate dressing room, living area with a large fireplace and a well-equipped work space. A separate bathroom features a big bath tub, double sinks, a standalone shower and heated mirrors and floors. One of the Lake View Suites also features a private balcony. Luxe linen and opossum fur throws up the style ante.

Located a short stroll from the main hotel building beside the lake, Eichardt’s two Lakefront Apartment Two-Bedroom Suites (120 sq m) feature two rooms with super king-size beds, an open-plan living and dining area with gas fireplace, work space, well-appointed kitchenette and private balcony with lake views. The spacious bathroom includes a large Jacuzzi tub, a separate walk-in shower and double sinks. As with all the apartments, these suites are filled with luxurious soft furnishings and natural light, enhanced by sunny skylights.

The generous Eichardt's Residence (300sq m) is the ultimate in lakeside luxury, with panoramic views over Queenstown Bay over to Queenstown Gardens and the Remarkables mountain range. This self-contained villa, just a short walk from the main hotel, is set over three floors and features three large bedrooms (with split-king beds and room to sleep up to seven adults), private balconies, a well-appointed European kitchen (equipped with a Nespresso machine), a spacious lounge and dining area, workspace and separate cinema room. The bathroom include bath tubs big enough for two, double sinks, walk-in shower and underfloor heating. The master suite occupies the top level, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a private balcony and a cosy gas fire; balconies also extend from the lower-floor suite and living zone. A private chef can be requested for in-villa dining.

A lavish modern hideaway, the 240sq m penthouse has sweeping views over Lake Wakatipu and the snow-capped mountains beyond. It’s accessed by private elevator, and you’ll have Queenstown’s largest private terrace, which has a spa pool, fireplace, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and a large table for alfresco gatherings. Indoors, there’s another full kitchen and spacious living and dining areas with automated lighting, heating and entertainment systems. There are two bedrooms, both with a dressing area and king-size bed, and two ensuite marble bathrooms, each with a deep-soaking bath tub, heated floors, twin vanities, GHD straighteners and Perrin & Rowe tapware. Plus, you'll have a sauna and spa room, and luxurious extras: a chauffeured transfer from the airport, use of a Land Rover Discovery throughout your stay, a round-the-clock butler, private chef, pre-dinner cocktails, daily replenished champagne and spirits, and a gourmet breakfast.
