These east-facing, 55sq m rooms are located in the Lands and Titles wing and feature French doors leading to either a walk-out balcony or a Juliet balcony overlooking Cathedral Square. There are 10 Heritage Balcony Rooms; two have fireplaces (numbers 5 and 6). Spread yourselves out and pretend you’re a cashed-up treasurer in the Studio Suites, which sprawl across 80sq m. Each suite has distinctive original features, such as truss ceilings, dormer windows and wood detailing. Two rooms have Swan River views. The only problem with staying in the Treasury Suites is leaving the Treasury Suites. These two 80sq m suites, located in the Treasury Wing, each have a large (very, very large) light­filled bedroom, plus a separate sitting room and views of Council House and Stirling Gardens. Features vary between the two – there’s a fireplace in one and a truss ceiling in the other, for example – but both have a custom-made king-size bed dressed in Egyptian cotton, a TV, iPod dock, desk and minibar; caffeine-fiends can request an Illy espresso machine.
